LAVO awarded international design awards for product design

LAVO has been recognised as best in class by two international design competitions, the Red Dot Awards and the iF Design Awards.

Sydney, NSW – Tuesday, 10 May 2022 – We are pleased to announce that LAVO has been recognised by two leading international design awards, winning the Best of the Best Red Dot Award, and the iF Design Gold Award 2022, for the product design of the LAVO Hydrogen Battery. LAVO’s innovative hydrogen technology delivers renewable green energy through a unique storage solution.

The highest award in the competition, the Red Dot ‘Best of the Best’ is awarded for ground-breaking design and is reserved for the best products in a category.

The iF Design Gold Award acknowledges excellence in design and is recognised as a seal of good design for the design community.

Both awards recognise LAVO’s novel design and relentless commitment to innovation and sustainability. Prioritising sustainability-centric design, form and function has allowed for the development of an innovative product that fuses engineering and aesthetics.

Sustainability is always at the core of LAVO’s processes of design, innovation, and engineering to ensure we are delivering on the ambition to accelerate the shift to a renewable future through distinctive design and enabling meaningful change and responsible consumerism.

Alan Yu, CEO and Executive Director of LAVO, commented: “The unique design of our LAVO Hydrogen Battery brings an innovative and more sustainable solution to the renewable energy storage market compared to traditional batteries. LAVO continues to drive sustainable design and innovation at the forefront of our future solutions and technology.”

“We would like to thank and acknowledge our design partners, Design + Industry (D+I), who share our ambition for design, innovation and engineering that contributes to a sustainable future.”

Murray Hunter, Founder of D + I commented: “To be a partner in pioneering this new technology that contributes to a more sustainable future is a great honour. For the LAVO Hydrogen Battery to secure these recognitions from the international community is a testament to this world-class development, Australian innovation and the purpose-driven team at LAVO.”

“It has been a great privilege to work with LAVO to develop a Hydrogen Battery which produces the next generation of fuel as a positive shift to a net zero carbon future. Then to be recognised by the international design community by winning their top design awards further endorses the level of design and innovation we achieved with LAVO.”
